Literature Text
Staring at this blank white paper
Words are hard to grasp, like vapor
My mind has very little skill
Each line has to be pushed uphill
And dragged forth by an act of will
But I will keep on pushing still
Because to create is a thrill
One easily worth the high bill
Staying silent cuts like razors
These words, remain my truest saviors

DFC 2015 Day 15: Phantasmagoria
Bird girl knows that
she can fly.
She spreads her arms
free and wide--
the surf down low,
the sky up;
toes at cliff's edge,
set to glide.
He takes her wrists,
holds her back.
He speaks to her,
a soft plea.
His words are wind
on her back.
She steps. She falls
in the sea.

XXX. Spring time
My favorite thing

We only get to see
the surface,
but it is enough
to drown us
XXVI. Old refrain
Something familiar
in the sadness of your words
these days -
I wonder who has the right to decide
the difference between your sorrow and mine
XXV. Contemplation
Who am I,

DFC 2015: 1. Outliving Fear
When darkness rips away her joy
With claws that flay and deftly tear,
Her bones and sinew are laid bare
As lifeless as a tattered toy,
Her heartbeat gently pulses quick
Beneath that skin like porcelain,
Each slash breeds more adrenaline
As palms grow slick and breath constricts,
Her eyes see nothing but the pain,
Her very sanity is slain,
But as she clutches onto hope
And feels the fibres of her rope,
She knows that daylight’s face is near
Which means she will outlive the fear.
