Literature Text
A field this morning glows
While beneath the cold river flows
Church bell ringing from across town
While the sun is ready to follow me down
Hold on by yourself
Last a little while
Love this world
With a quiet smile
It’s my time to go
Grownup eyes in the face of a child
Shining out a fever bright candle
Lighting up the sky free and wild
It was nothing I could handle
Hold me in your heart
Hold on by yourself
Last a little while
Love this world
With a quiet smile
It’s my time to go
Bare branches out here scrape the sky
I know there’s no reason to cry
These times come and go
I’ll be down below

i want one of those
little mirrors
that allow you
to see inside
yourself
the one dentists use
so they can check for cavities
and places where i’m
rotting away

Death Daydreams
Who can measure the death of a dream?
Wake up just to die again
Rise up just to fall in love again
With the sickly sweet sense of demise
That we all know so tortuously well
Feel it rake your body and soul
Every finger; a nail
Hammering into the coffin of all
Those hopes we once held so very dear
But it's a good kind of pain
Or rather a release of impossibility
Nevermore shall we dance in futility
In danse macabre, we will be set free
The tune of despair and defeat
Never sounded so sweet
As it does when hope fails
And death's embrace stands ready
For Death is always there waiting
Always ready to welcome the broken beings
That we all find

Fracture, #4
And my memories all came
back to me in bodybags

I like that you had a verse that you repeated, and the tone is sad, but peaceful. It actually reminds me of one of my own stories. This is a great poem, and I hope you feel a little happier soon.
